Harry James Potter was born on July 31, 1980. On the night of his second Halloween, October 31, 1981, Harry and his parents, James and Lily, were attacked by the True Dark Lord. Harry's godfather, a man named Sirius Black, was sent to Azkaban the morning after; he claimed that he betrayed the Potters and told the True Dark Lord where the Potters were hiding. Albus Dumbledore leaves infant Harry on his aunt's doorstep in the wee hours of the morning on November 1st. Dumbledore had hoped that the boy would be taken care of by Petunia and Vernon Dursley, but that is not the case. The year is 1991 and Harry James Potter, a very different Harry James Potter than Dumbledore had hoped, is attending Hogwarts. This story ponders the question of "What if Snape delivered Harry his letter instead of Hagrid" Because as much as I love Hagrid, it should've been someone else who a professor was instead of Hagrid who only had a few years of magical education.

Though not many, heck most of the professors didn't know it, during Harry's 2nd the relationships between houses improved greatly, with a spot of acting here and there to keep up the image. But with Malfoy realizing that whoever this Death Eater is isn't going to get him a Head Boy badge, Harry telling the entire student body what the Ministry is doing to him, and Hermione oh so very tempted to throw both book and teacher out the window, There's no more acting to be done.
