Everyone has two sides to them- one pulling toward the darkness and one to the light. For Claire Somerset, this couldn't be more literal. After the death of her mother, she finds that she has two clones of herself that seemed to appear out of thin air, and they follow her around everywhere. The one named Cleo wants to lead her down the squeaky-clean path of righteousness, but the one named Clove wants to convince her how much fun sin can really be. Claire seriously considered that she could be going insane until she discovers that she isn't alone. When she gets sent to the prestigious Gemini Academy, she sees that almost everyone there has a clone, as well. She learns that what they are is physical manifestations of the person that one is destined to become, whether they are to be good or to be evil. These "light" and "dark" clones are there to guide their possessors on the journey to becoming their true self until they can "merge" together, becoming one in the same body forever. This leads Claire to ask the unexplainable question: why does she have two clones? Which path is she supposed to follow? Little does she know that the two academy houses, Castor and Pollux, are on the verge of war. Their treaty was broken when the scion of Gemini arrived, and they're both after Claire to aid in their battle between good vs. evil. She's torn between her light and dark side as she discovers more about herself and her family history than she ever bargained for. In the end, she must choose between what is right and what is easy.
