I'm still coming up with this story but I wanted to take a break from one shots and try to write an actual fanfic. It's been seven years since the resonance cascade and everything has gone to shit. Freeman seemingly disappeared and the cascade got the attention of a powerful alien army, the Combine. The Science Team, after being dropped back into the world after the Seven Hour War, are forced to adapt to this new lifestyle while aiding an underground resistance.

(AU) ------ Gordon Martine Freeman had finally saved up enough cash to apply to his dream college. A few days in advance, he decided to search for any houses or apartments nearby. When he saw an apartment up for rent that was right next to the college, of course he rented it immediately. I mean, hey, it was a decent sized apartment for a cheap price. However, he was a little confused when the apartments listing didn't mention four ghost roommates that would be stalking him from now on. ------ An AU where Gordon Feetman has to survive college exams, the ghost of a security guard who just showed up one day, and three ghosts that used to be scientists/professors at the same college. There will probably not be any plot in this whatsoever. Just random shit. (Will contain shipping, found family trope, and mentions of different types of deaths)

Gordon Freeman is a Theoretical Physicist, and Barney Calhoun is a security guard who theoretically has the best ass in all of Black Mesa. Will the two ever decide to make it official, or will they continue to find clever workarounds? Well, you'll just have to see.

It's been almost a week since Gordon received the final message from Coomer. The idea of being able to extract his friends from the game was an insane Idea but it was so insane that Gordon was willing to try it. He didn't want the science team to suffer in darkness alone when he had bonded with them on such a personal level and besides, he owed them a better home then the polygon world they were so used to.
