This is my take on the ending of Journey Beyond Sodor and what SHOULD have happened in the final version.

It's a toy adventure for Thomas and his friends. Well, most of them. Diapet has only made Thomas, Percy, James, Gordon, Hiro, Annie, Clarabel, and Bertie. So, they have to improvise a bit.
