"And you're my king," I squealed, awkwardly placing a flower crown on top of his head. He chuckled, pulling me into a tight hug. ❦ Seventeen-year-old Seph Callas has no memory of her childhood nor of her parents but except for that and a stubborn repeated dream that won't go away, everything is normal. Once her eighteenth birthday strikes however, that all changes. With a sudden interest in flowers, random flashbacks, strange feelings she can't explain and being attacked in the middle of the night by three very scary looking guys. If that isn't weird enough, Seph finds herself being saved by a handsome stranger who introduces himself as a private detective named Hades. But along the way, she finds herself being chased by things that shouldn't exist; demons, gorgons, minotaurs, gods, goddesses and even a three headed dog which makes her question everything that she once thought she knew especially because they're all after one thing, her. Has Seph made the right choice to trust him? Or is he the one that wants her dead? This is an excerpt from my first novel, "Medousa;" a retelling of the myth of Medousa from her own point of view. It covers almost the entirety of her life from childhood as a slave in Sparta, to her death at the hands of Perseus. In this portion, Medousa rescues a group of Amazon children from a Hittite exploratory force that had invaded the territory of Themiscyra.
