Alternative titles: The Haunted Shrine, The Lost One, The Ghostly Shrine Maiden, The Shrine in the Forest. It's the year 1920, and there have been young Japanese ladies going missing in a peculiar part of the forest. Police have been investigating but found nothing, not even a footprint. But...they found one thing: A run-down shrine from the early 1800s, old candles from back then still lit. Local teens and children have been spreading rumors about the shrine being haunted by a spirit, and that the spirit takes young ladies to meet their demise. Word goes around that a jealous courtesan and a swordsman were murdered by a young shrine maiden back in the year 1800, the reason being the fact the young maiden was infatuated with a young swordsman whom the courtesan was married. Now locals are saying that the young shrine maiden is haunting the shrine... That rumor is still present to this day, but...you believe that not all rumors can be true. Well now, shouldn't we find out for ourselves?

Her daily life isn't that interesting even with the addition of the dead. Working at a tacky history attraction dressed as a vampire straight from the late 80s, not what she'd dreamed about doing when she was little. But a visit from a bunch of Ghost Adventure changes her mundane life.

A girl called Ella joins a school and everyone ignores her she doesn't know why until she noticed shes dead a girl called Tyler helps her and a group off girls and two boys have her diary so she can leave the school.

Kale has a pretty normal life. She's 16 years old and in her junior year in high school. She has a crush on the varsity quarterback. She has a best friend that she's known since the 3rd grade. Kale is passing all her classes with flying colors. Kale's life is perfectly normal and going great, until her junior prom night. Things don't go as expected. Kale wakes up and find that something is wrong. She wakes up thinking she has to go back to school. And when she arrives, she tries to speak to her friends, but the problem is, no one can see her because she's dead. Kale finds she is some sort of spirt that is not visible to the living, that is until she meets Sean. A nerdy, boy that is kind of a loner. Neither of them can figure out why Sean can see Kale. But Kale has to find a way to catch her killer without hurting Sean, and making sure he kills no one else in the process.
