It also marks my first presence on this platform. After nearly three years, I have finally written and completed a story. I've been writing for seven years, but I've struggled with a long-lasting writer's block, leaving a 379-page novel unfinished and tucked away. With this tale, I sought a poetic approach, using it as a way to warm up my mind and reconnect with writing-perhaps even as a step toward exploring poetry further. I hope you all enjoy it!

Throughout time, humanity has changed. Humans seek to kill others, sell, murder, and steal due to selfish needs. Can one truly be selfish though if survival is at stake? Some can, and some are darker than unwanted truths an ideal human despises. These people seek to be led, to be guided from an upcoming, self-inflicted downfall. With humanity unable to correct its mistakes, a strange being descends from the shadows, clothed in nothing but funeral clothes. The supernatural is unknown, but one hiding in the darkness cannot bear to stand idle as civilization begins to fall apart. Once he became known, he was loved, idolized for being a mystery. However, the accidental taste of his blood triggered a widespread plague desperate to have a sweet taste of adrenaline.

A short fictional travelogue inspired by my time in Whitby. It discusses the Gothic side of Whitby including Whitby Goth Festival, and Whitby's links with Bram Stokers' Dracula. It tackles issues that people of Gothic and alternative subcultures endure- including myself. I visited Whitby a few years ago- this travelogue is inspired by my time there, but it is mostly fictionalised. Enjoy :)

There he stood, this goat, wearing a modified vest adorned in jewelry. Only a pet, toward the stone-face man sitting next to them. He sat upon a golden throne covered in jewels with engravings symbolizing love and compassion. A touch ironic, considering who owned it, who created, and who sat in it.
