Anne Wheeler is a misunderstood, colored woman who was a slave up until she was 20 years old. She's reunited with her brother WD when slavery is abolished, and he convinces her to do a trapeze act with him in P.T. Barnum's Circus. But when she meets a questionable, supposedly no-good man named Phillip Carlyle, things in her life take a turn. In this story, Anne battles through discrimination, assault, and heart ache. When you're reading this story I can promise you one thing. Feels. This story starts at the beginning of 'The Greatest Showman.' I have no rights to the movie or the characters. Fic rated: PG-13 for some adult themes and mild language. Warning: There are adult themes in this story. There will be notices in a chapter that contains them before and after they happen. All of these themes (examples: self-harm, assault) are mildly used, and they all have negative outcomes. I'm not adding these things to the story to promote them. So, recently I've been obsessed with The Greatest Showman and my favorite song from it is The Other Side, sung by Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron. I've also been getting super into Mafiatale, one of Undertale's many fan AU's, thus this one-shot was born. The story features my character Su, attempting to make a deal with a Mafia member in order to get out of a contract she has with a rival family. Su, in this story, is a wannabe singer and dancer, or as she refers to herself, a showgirl. It takes place in an "underground" type bar as this is set in the 20s ish, when the Prohibition was going on. Some of the lyrics are altered to fit the scene, however many of the lyrics stay the same. A miraculous x greatest showman au (and some college au thrown in there). A sad start when Marinette Dupain-Cheng ends up living alone after a tragic accident. She starts a job at the famous Agreste circus to gain money and it is here she becomes face to face with a familiar boy, Adrien Agreste. Although she recognises him he can't return the favour as a mask covers her face, to him she is only known as Ladybug, the famous acrobat. If only he knew his close friend Marinette was the one he was falling for... In this story, there is no magic, Chat Noir and Ladybug, as well as other characters, are in this story but they're not displayed with the miraculous/magic or akumatizations or anything like that. There is some adrienette, ladrien and ladynoir throughout this story but I have included a tiny bit of lukanette and adrigami in there too (sorry if you don't like those ships, I don't either, to be honest, but those relationships add a little more random detail to the storyline so why not). Characters aren't made by me - a fanfiction based on the show Miraculous Ladybug.
