A young girl named Lillian learns how to help out with making money, since it is scarce. Her father died in a mining incident 6 years ago and her mother is muddling through the time since she can't afford food and health insurance it has been tough for the 4 kids. Lilly's little brother, Jacob has not spoken a word since the day their dad died. Anne, Lilly's older sister thinks Lilly has too big of an imagination. Matthew (older brother) and Lilly used to have a close relationship, after their dad died they grew apart. Matthew refuses to think Lilly can be helpful at all. Lilly's dream is to open up a lemonade stand using the tree her father and her planted when she was 5 just before the mining accident. No one believes she can.
