It's 1919 in England after the Great War people are bruised battered, some dead families mourn sons who will never return, some return without limbs, and unfortunately some don't return at all. 23 year old Delilah Bennet had spent the last 4 years watching these tragedies on repeat, having to tell mothers there son is gone, having to put covers on body's, hold dying soldiers as they took thier last breath , write letters to the families, and watching men die beneath her hands. Delilah became a nurse after losing her father as a little girl due to war, determined to save the lives she once couldn't, back when little Delilah could only pray that fathers, brothers, husbands, and sons would make it home to their loved ones now, she has to save the lives she once begged god to spare. Delilah's life had always been quiet, she would treat to soldiers go home twice a week, than to her mom and family ,and then tend back to the wounded. But little did she know all that would change when Lieutenant James Ashford was carried through the doors of the military hospital, barely clinging to life. Delilah being assigned to his care and unit, she believed he would be another soldier she'd nurse back to health, or another person she would have to announce dead....but oh boy she couldn't have been more wrong. A devastating head injury left Lieutenant James Ashford with fractured memories and remembering everything except the face of the woman he was meant to marry, Eva miller. With the truth too painful to bear and to scared for anybody to tell, and Lieutenant James Ashford's condition being already bad, Delilah is asked to do the unthinkable: pretend to be his fiancé until he is strong enough to hear the truth and gain most of his memories back. What begins as one desperate lie to save a soldier's life soon become something neither of them expected. Because the more time they spend together the harder it becomes to separate what is pretend and what is real.

This is a book about an alternate history, in which a future story of mine will take place. I am not a Nazi, Fascist or Communist, my work does not support any of these ideologies either.
