I have a notebook full of notes for this story but I'm still in the middle of making it coherent, this might end up as several short stories following a vague timeline.

The Once-ler is off on his journey to make his thneed. Along the way, he meets Greed. Greed looks exactly like the Once-ler but does NOT act like him. They become good friends. But Greed has different plans for Once's future. Greed wants power and money and fear. The Once-ler becomes suspicious about his ambitions but Greed tries to convince Once to come with him. And the time comes where the Once-ler must choose the right path for his future.

Just like how there was a stage in the Once-Ler's life that turned him Greedy, there was a part that also made him...cry
