He was never supposed to save her.
At two in the morning, fourteen-year-old Ava runs through the snow-covered streets of Paris with a dagger in her side, blood soaking through her shirt, and men hunting her like an animal.
The strange part?
Not a single drop of blood touches the ground.
Ava has spent her entire life surviving. Surviving foster homes. Surviving violence. Surviving being treated like a replacement for someone long dead. And surviving the strange things about herself people call unnatural.
Silver hair. Impossible abilities. Bad luck that follows her like a shadow.
Then, on the night she is supposed to die, a stranger saves her.
A boy with golden hair, eyes bluer than the sky, and enough secrets to make Ava want to punch him repeatedly.
He claims to be a god.
Which would be easier to believe if he was not so annoyingly dramatic.
But the more Ava is pulled into his world, the more she realizes something is very, very wrong.
There are rules the gods refuse to break.
There are things even immortals are afraid of.
And somehow, for reasons nobody will explain to her properly, Ava seems to be at the center of it all.
Unfortunately for everyone involved, Ava has never been very good at staying out of trouble.
