Calypso is nervous about starting college. She's lived a very sheltered life and been always home schooled. So shes hoping to find someone to love her, to make up for all she missed. She pins for one guy, then another, and then another. They're not looking in her direction, which makes her loose hope. But when a scrawny Hispanic dude moves in, well, she doesn't expect what happens in the end.

Briseis of Pedasus is a princess with a dual fate. She is the daughter of an unknown goddess and a king obsessed with legacy. A legacy Briseis is unable to continue, much to her father's dismay. As the Trojan War begins, Briseis accepts a quest to kill a man in the name of a goddess who wants glory, and if Briseis succeeds, the curse upon her house will be reversed. This is a story of parents and children, love and hate, hope and dismay as characters question if it's impossible to change the fates which have been decreed for them. This is a poem I wrote for the Rewind The Classics 2021 contest. The challenge was to chose a classic and retell it with a twist. I chose the Iliad, specifically the relationship between Achilles and Briseis within it. I wrote the poem in the format of a tanka. A tanka is a poem in which each line has a certain number of syllables, the sequence is 5, 7, 5, 7, 7. The poem had to be 300 words so the sequence repeats until the very last word of this poem. (Completed) So I wrote this before Blood of Olympus came out so it would take place during that book. Just a short story involving the empathy link between Grover and Percy because I feel that's really underrated. Anyways enjoy!
