An inch apart, each animal stood in lines across the floor. Their bodies painted with plain colours, lacking any detail of fur or eyes. Lovella sat facing them, her eyes switching between the line and window. Rain gently stuck the glass, creating a calming rhythm of thuds. She was happy with her line, as it had take a bug deal of effort to place them so precisely. A small, content smile made its way up to her face. Muffled footsteps were heard further into the house, their presence seemingly comforted the girl as she sat there. A knock at the door interrupted the calming silence. Followed by another. And another. And the door was opened slowing, the hinges creaking in protest. Who was it? It was was probably just her father. She hadn't a clue of the time so it wasn't a far-fetched idea. But another question popped into her mind. Why would her father knock the door of a house he owned? A scream vibrated through the house as Lovella covered her ears and sunk to the ground.
