He didn't even see the tragedy coming but yet he did see the tragedy coming and knew that one day Riff would die either by being killed by a member of a rival gang or police. But to Tony,Riff was more than a gang leader,he was his best friend,his brother from another mother. Tony believed it when Riff had told him that he was born to die young. Riff died at 18. Tony always thought that Riff would die first but he thought they'd pass away together. If Tony could speak to him one more time,he would say to Riff,"I'm sorry I couldn't save you."
