حين تُطرد أديلاد من مدرسة بوباتون للسحر بسبب عدم التزامها وكثرة الشغب الذي تفتعله. تقرر مديرة مدرسة بوباتون الي إرسالها لمدرسة هوجورتس للسحر تأديباً لها. أديلاد ذات الثالثة عشر خريفاً اولي الفتيات الذين يتم طردهم من مدرسة بوباتون العريقة، وتحويلها الي مدرسة أفخم للسحر. الجميع يحسدها علي هذه الفرصة لكنهم لا يعلمو كم حزنها من طردها وأن وجودها في هوجورتس سيجعل الجميع يعلم انها ساحرة سيئة. كَرِهت مالفوي لتكبره ،وكره مالفوي اديلاد للسانها السليط.
