Death was always something I knew was coming for me. I knew the day my eyes closed, I would never see any of my family again. They all believed I was going to heaven. A young woman named Klara arrives at his door, led by her ghostly grandmother and carrying a strange familiarity Eldric can't explain. Klara sees spirits too - and the darkness stalking Eldric seems to notice her. As the veil thins and the fog turns hostile, Eldric begins to understand the truth behind his resurrection: Grim didn't bring him back out of mercy. He brought him back because something worse is coming. And it wants the boy who escaped death. Some deals save you. Some damn you. Eldric's did both.

The brother of Mandy has to deal with her idiot friend, the Grim Reaper, and the occasional supernatural being in the town of Endsville.

Do you care about your life? I don't. This life is not one I hold much value to. The next one, that's the one I'm more interested in-well my involvement in it and him. Death. Someone I haven't been able to stop thinking about since I meet him as a little girl. I'll do anything to know him, to be around him. No matter the risk.
