Captured and forced into dragon fights alongside Hiccup in S3:E8 "Stryke Out," Orinth is put in a difficult situation. When Ryker shows up to collect his profits, Hiccup and the gang are forced to leave Orinth behind, causing Ryker to bring Viggo the only thing left of use: one dragon and accompanying rider.

Hiccup hadn't shot that dragon down, he had never won the dragon training, he never lost a leg and he had never made a single friend.
