Aleksander had been alive for too long, in his opinion, staring bleakly at the Fold he created, seeing without seeing.

Thunder roared in her ears as she descended the staircase, holding a ball of light in her palm to guide her way. It wasn't necessary, though; Alina knew the palace like the back of her hand, at this point. It was simply the comfort of not being stuck in darkness, alone and without knowing if someone would appear.

This is a book of poems about particular scenes in other books (or movies), all written by yours truly! It also includes guest poems, and some of my own works! Hope you enjoy! If you have a request, feel free to leave a comment! (I'm not sure whether this counts as fanfiction or not... it's currently under poetry as there are both book scenes and original works)

The Darkling (Aleksander) had just gotten engaged to his Star Summoner when he found Alina, the Sun Summoner. For who could ever love the stars when one could have the sun? However, if you love a sun, be careful you don't burn. Would they be each other's perfect balance, or would it fail because neither could exist while the other flourishes? And what happens to the star when there's no darkness to make her visible.

The Age of the Grisha had long since passed; first-hand accounts & golden memories slowly evolved into stories of legend over time. The tides of war throughout the course of the following centuries had left Ravka in turmoil. The royal family fled the country; their rule had been taken up by many a conqueror. With the Grisha so few in number & scattered across the continent, no one was left to take a stand against the coming armies. The mighty capital, Os Alta, was left to desertion. No one had set foot in the Grand Palace, nor the Little Palace in over a hundred years. The refined & wealthy grounds were abandoned long since then. That is until a young summoner finds herself sneaking through the forgotten halls of the Little Palace to discover truth to many rumors she's heard about the palace itself. Of course Alina loved her husband. Mal was her best friend, her partner in crime, the love of her life. After all, she had given up so much of herself so he could live, so they could be married. But as their third winter at the newly-built Keramzin approaches, the life Alina left behind begins to weigh on her. - This story takes place about three years after the war ended, when Alina and Mal are running the Keramzin orphanage. Personally, I don't think it's too heavily anti-Mal, but this is definitely a fic for Nikolina shippers.

What would happen if Alina had never left the Darkling when Baghra told her of his plans after the Winter Fete? Will she fall under his spell again? Or will she save her brilliant boy's soul?
