*This is the rewritten version of Monochrome, read the old one at your own risk* It was said when you met the person you were meant to spend the rest of your life with that your world would erupt into color. No one ever warned Link that his world could just as easily fall back to being gray.

Link is a student at the Knight Academy in Skyloft. Zelda and Groose are his fellow classmates. But one day Zelda goes missing. Oddly enough Groose is no where in sight either. It's rumored that an old myth is at play. Both Zelda and Groose were spirited away to the surface world of Hyrule. So Link travels below the clouds with the Goddess Sword in hand and Fi, the Sword Spirit. Little does he know is that dark times are looming over the horizon.

In this exciting tale, it's Link who gets sucked up by Ghirahim's tornado. It's up to Link's childhood friend, Zelda, to get him back. However when they reunite, Zelda is horrified to see Link with a cold and distant personality who would rather do things alone. But after having adventures with Zelda, he comes to realize the power of friendship.

They had both had their hearts ripped in two. Perhaps, together, they could make a whole one.

Ghirahim has always been called the bad guy, the one who wants to destroy the world. No one ever really took the time to get past his rough, uncaring exterior and learn more about him. The villagers have known the legend of how their home came to be and honor the goddess named Hylia. It was all peaceful until one tragic day, Zelda had fallen through the clouds to the forbidden place the villagers called The Surface. Nobody knows what lies beneath the clouds and no one dares to find out... Link, Zelda, and Micaiah leave their home and go on their own quests to reveal the mysteries about themselves and to discover their destiny....

Dear book, I will explain one simple thing to you. I did not die, I lived, for what purpose I know not, but I know Fi and the Goddess Hylia had something to do with it. That is why Lady Zelda has me writing this, so that I may conduct my investigations and not let my anger, or my sorrows, interfere with my investigation.

This is a modem AU. Link is mute and uses Hyrule sign language(HSL). Zelda knows HSL moves to this town to live with her aunt Ubosa. They become friends and later something more. Have you ever wondered what a modern Legend of Zelda game would be like? Well it would certainly not be like this because this is an alternate universe (which I created), but that is how I thought of this. I hope you enjoy! I took the characters from past games and remixed them into their new roles in this universe. When a dangerous and poisonous fog with unknown origins appears throughout the country, a stay-at-home order is issued. Strangely, this has quite a lot to do with Link and his new friends... A angel of the Goddess Hylia fell in love with a powerful, evil man. He was kind to her and treated her with much love. He gave her gifts and introduced her to some people that he knew. He didn't hide how much he loves her, he let even the Goddess know. But, he became greedy for power, he wanted to take over the land. Punishment was in order... With only one friend, she gets picked on a lot by the cheerleaders. She is clumsy, not-smart, and ugly (what she says). She never thought she would ever make without her best friend, Midna Twilight. Midna is perfect. Midna has her long-time relationship with a football player, Sheik Hayward. Zelda may have a crush on the schools star quarterback.
