Umbralis.
A world where the sun is a weapon, the dark is a prison, and blood is the only currency that matters.
For centuries, the 73 Great Houses of Night-roamers have ruled the earth from the shadows. To them, humanity is mere livestock, and the Elven tribes are high-value commodities to be hunted and sold. They are the apex predators of the night, retreating only when the searing light of day forces them into their gilded cellars.
But in the scorched expanse of the South, a new power has emerged. Enter House Veridia.
Through a pair of 'forbidden' marriages, Urdin Veridia had set the stage not only for a new House of Sunwalkers, but laid the foundations that Night-roamers will soon learn to dread, with his eldest son and heir, Cassian, and sharp-tongued daughter Erissa as the new faces.
When House Rosia, from their high seat in the north, burned Hearthglen, they did not just erase a border village. They erased the last shreds of Urdin's reverence for 'the Old Peace'.
Now the Sun itself is on the march, and as it does, it gathers those the Night discarded-the broken, the haunted, and the nameless-forging them into a new kind of weapon.
