The quiet town of Graystone is an idyllic farming settlement just a stone's throw from the marvelous Capitol city Azurlaise. The forest is reasonably tame, there are hardly ever bandits because of the close proximity to the capitol and the land is lush- however the cozy lifestyle of a horsewoman isn't enough for Asha Fliecae and her best friend Marrius, son of mayor Graystone. The pair long to become gryphon riders for Cor'vale but it is not a simple task to tame and ride such powerful and intelligent creatures. Before they are able to set out for the capitol, their home is threatened by powers both natural and unnatural- an amnesiac half-elf heralding the coming of trouble Asha and Marrius learn of the less glamorous side of heroism and must grow if they're truly to join the ranks of the Gryphon Riders of Azurlaise. *Updates will be sporadic unfortunately, but what do you expect for a free story? :)*

Every part of the world is dangerous. From the alluring kelpies of the southern ocean islands and their aquatic friends to the unkillable, unrelenting dragons of Loang Mountain in the northern horizon. It was hard being a human in a place where there were more magical creatures than you, each able and willing to kill and shred with a simple moments notice. Its not unheard of for dragons to fly near the forest village of Aardene. Even less unheard of for one to be taken back to the Loang Mountain. But a human, walking out of the mountain... Well it's just never been done. Never heard of or seen. Especially when they're on dragonback.

Four years, that's how long it's been since Brennan Sorrengail faked his own death. Joining the rebellion seemed like the obvious thing to do, a hero doesn't let innocent people die. Even if they're not his people. Hero, is that was he is? no. Soldier, that's what he is. Constantly trading one war for the next. His mending abilities have made him instrumental in every war he's fought, but mending doesn't win wars, weapons do. I wrote this, turning the depression I was feeling about a month ago into a short sappy story with a duo friendship in it. I also used it as a practice to learn how to write immersive writing. I hope you like it. I was also inspired by an image I saw on MS Edge Images. Also, image is not mine.

However more emphasis is done from the dragons point of view and doesn't follow traditional and mainstream views on dragons and their society. All while learning ho to cope with living in a city run by vampires, without his twin to help him. This is the Sequel to The Dragon Hunter Saga, where trouble of a smaller yet just as dangerous is around the corner.
