The Summer House is a haunting supernatural romance that blends fantasy, mystery, emotional depth, and quiet redemption. At its heart is a young woman named Choi Soo Young, who-after a life filled with pain and isolation-finds herself bound to an old, secluded property known as the Summer House. As a guardian spirit, she is tasked with watching over a specific living person who arrives seeking solace in the same forgotten place.
The new resident is Yoo Jae Sung, a man carrying his own burdens of grief and inner darkness, accompanied by his companion Min Ji, a woman hiding her past. As Soo Young takes on the role of a quiet housekeeper to stay close, subtle tensions and unspoken connections begin to form between the three. Complicating her duties is Sung Won, another guardian spirit who crosses paths with Soo Young in the ethereal world-forming an unexpected bond that carries its own rules and consequences among the departed.
Layered with themes of loneliness, second chances, hidden pasts, and the fragile line between life and death, the story explores what it means to protect someone who may not want saving-and the unexpected ways the living and the departed can touch each other's lives.
