De esta manera, el mapa europeo se vió modificado y se diferenciaron entonces en tres espacios políticos: la Europa occidental, capitalista; la Europa oriental, socialista y algunos países neutrales. A partir de este conflicto de ideologías, surgieron intensas luchas económicas y diplomáticas, e incluso se llegó a conflictos bélicos, como lo fueron la Guerra de Corea y la Guerra de Vietnam, donde sus detonadores estaban vinculados a estas ideologías. Estos temas y otros como lo es el Muro de Berlín y el antes y el después de esos 30 años tensos, serán detallados a continuación.
