⚔️ The Wayward Company "He came from an age of gunpowder and discipline... and found himself in a world of magic and monsters." The year was 1785 when Silas Ward was born - a Virginian by birth, a soldier by blood. The son of a frontier rifleman and a veteran of the Revolution, Ward grew up in the lingering smoke of musket fire and the echoes of liberty's war drums. His father's stories were full of powder, honor, and men who carved a nation from wilderness. Ward became one of them - a United States Marine, a captain forged in the chaos of the War of 1812 and the Barbary Wars that followed. He knew the sting of salt air, the ring of sabres, and the thundering recoil of a musket - his father's old Charleville, a relic from another war. He knew discipline, courage, and the silence that comes after battle. He thought he knew the world. Until one night, the world changed. A storm unlike any other swallowed his ship whole - and when he awoke, the sea was gone. In its place stood a land of twin moons and crimson dawns, where men walked beside elves and devils bore human faces. A place where steel and sorcery shared the same battlefield. To its people, he was an enigma: a foreigner in a tattered blue coat, wielding a thunderous weapon no forge could craft and speaking of wars no bard had sung of. To himself, he was something worse - a ghost adrift in a world that was not his own. But fate has a strange sense of humor. In this new realm, Silas Ward would cross paths with others who carried their own scars: a half-elf devoted to divine justice, a young fighter chasing her worth, a brooding warlock haunted by the cost of power, and a tiefling bard whose charm hides a wounded heart. Together, they will become known as The Wayward Company - not by choice, but by destiny. Their story is one of exile and rediscovery, of loyalty born in the fires of difference. For while some heroes are made by gods, and others by magic... Silas Ward was made by war.

Author's note: Undercover Curiousers is the fourth book a series that began with Undercover on the Titanic. After surviving the Titanic sinking (despite the malfunction of Silverwood School's time machine), an attempt to rescue my parents in China and a kidnapping attempt by a gang of American security agents, Licia, Miguel and I are press-ganged onto a British 20 gun frigate in 1788 CE. Unfortunately, France has just declared war in support of the American war of independence. We quickly learn some new terminology useful on a 20 gun sailing frigate including;- lubber hole, futtock shrouds, jib halyard, bowsprit, mizzen sail, head (toilet), belaying pins, burgoo, cat 'o nine tails and grog. When a French frigate appears, we discover how to fire a ten gun broadside and how not to abandon a sinking ship as it runs aground. But leaving the ship makes us deserters . . . and the navy hangs deserters by the neck . . . from the yard arm.

The Cultivation World's First Demolition Expert Meet Li Wei, a college student who's just trying to survive his cashier job, cram for exams, and squeeze in some light novel reading between customers. Until one totally mundane (and slightly embarrassing) accident sends him face-first into the afterlife - and straight into a baby body in a mysterious cultivation world. Only problem? His new parents speak in some ancient dialect that sounds like a mix of unintelligible poetry and very bad karaoke. But don't worry - baby Li Wei quickly deciphers their babble and grins a creepy, unsettling smile because he knows his secret weapon: gunpowder. Forget spiritual energy and flying swords - Li Wei is here to blow things up, literally. While the local maid is convinced the newborn is possessed (or just suffering from gas), the parents insist it's just the flickering candlelight playing tricks. With nothing but a brilliant mind, a burning curiosity, and an unhealthy obsession with explosions, Li Wei swears to rewrite every rule of cultivation... one TNT blast at a time. Will he become the greatest cultivator in history? Or just the loudest? One thing's for sure: this cultivation world will never be the same - and the maid definitely won't sleep tonight.

They call her "black sheep"-the rebellious one, a name that tastes like wine and gunpowder, born from the echo of a wild bullet that refuses to find a target, choosing instead to pierce only the sky. She is a spark-a wild bullet breaking through the hush of dawn, untamed, unclaimed, refusing the aim of hands that wish to hold her still, a heartbeat that races faster than fear. She blooms where no gardener dares to kneel, a wildflower with roots tangled in rebellion, drinking rain as if it were freedom itself, ignoring fences and neatly kept rows, her petals laughing at the thought of cages. The world hands her a map and a compass, but she tosses them into the river, for She is the journey without a road, a shot fired not to kill but to run-a heartbeat that ricochets through mountains. She knows responsibility is a leash, a rope that strangles the wind in her hair, so she runs with storms instead of clocks, letting sunsets be her only deadline, and the moon is her only ruler. And if you try to hold her, you will find only the scent of rain and the fading hum of a bullet's song, for Anaia is the flower that grows even in the cracks of the prison wall.
