At the age of nineteen, Athena Asamiya was an Olympic-bound prodigy in ice skating. She was an untouchable and undefeated when it comes to ice skating. All her hard work paid off, and now she is where she is. Everyone who watches her performances thinks no one can defeat her even Athena herself, but they were all mistaken. There were already signs but Athena ignored it. On the day of her big performance, she suddenly collapsed.
Athena was diagnose with Acute Myeloid Leukemia which explains here sudden bleeding, sudden bruises on her skin.
The news of her health spread towards her close friends and even her fans, giving them an assurance that she will fight her disease and will come back in the future for them. Athena knows that she can't, it was all lie and her illness cannot be treated. To cheer her up, her friends visits her and brought some books to read to kill her boredom.
Athena didn't like books and it was her first time reading a novel which she regretted not doing it way back.

Athena have too many regrets in life, she doesn't want to die. She wants to live, eat a lot of pastries, and enjoy her life. On a brink of her death, she wishes to live and promise to do all the things she wanted.
Her wishes were granted, instead of afterlife, her soul travels inside the novel that she read. She woke up as the villainess of the story, Guinevere Baroque.
