This takes place a year after the fight with belos. Gus has just turned 14 and finally got to spend time with his very busy friends who haven't been around much since they started helping rebuild and run the boiling isles. Gus doesn't blame his friends but he has felt like a fifth wheel, or third wheel due to his friends having partners that seem to be more important, which makes sense but it still makes him feel left out. gus hasn't really siad anything and would always be the one to let his friends talk to him and ask for help, even if hes like 2 years younger than them.. What nobody seems to notice is that gus has been struggling just as much, even when he acts fine. His anxiety has gotten worse and he's been having nightmares, along with his poor eating habits he's picked up due to his dad being extra busy and not having time to cook.
