Nonetheless, when bonding begins to occur and emotions that have been lying under the surface bubble- both girls are left trying to pick up their crumbling worlds while learning to let people (especially each other) in.

Do you ever feel like your own existence doesn't belong to you? As if you were the protagonist of a movie or a play where you need to please all the spectators and live according to the plot? But who writes that plot? Who decides of the unexpected developments and the people you meet? It should only be a matter of personal choices that we make by following our heart and listening to that little voice deep inside. Yet being the master of your own life seems complicated. Almost impossible. Your parents make decisions in your name until you become semi-independent. Then your brother takes the lead and becomes the self-proclamed parental authority. Your group of friends puts so much pressure on your shoulders that you end up acting impulsively and unwittingly just to get them off your back for a few days. Among all of that, the question that frequently comes up is: 'what about me?' What about my wishes and my desires? What about my tastes and preferences? What about my opinion on decisions that involve no one else but me? What about my feelings? Do they even matter, or am I simply supposed to look down and let my surroundings control my every move? Will I ever be able to find myself? Will they ever see me as me and not as the portrait of me they made up in their heads? Will I ever be able to assert myself and make myself heard? Will I ever obtain the leading role? Can someone who is broken like shattered glass be put together again with the bonding force of love? ---------------------- This is the short-story version of something I tried to put in a actual story on here, but since I was already writing this for my creative writing class, I decided to put this version only on here. There are cuss words, there are mentions of some triggering things that happened to one of my characters, but I'd rather you not tell me something in this story couldn't actually happen or that I have too many curse words, or anything of the sort. Constructive criticism is okay when you actually make it constructive instead of just pointing out flaws. Please know that my teacher was okay with the topic of this and that I have curse words within its contents. I don't believe there is nearly enough curse words to be put under mature either. Professor Celine Yrenea Bagaforo is every student's dream professor. She teaches so well that you want to have more minutes of her discussing whatever topic she has for that day.
