Set three years after "The Shining Eclipse", Yūgo Song and his friends have graduated from high school and are now first-year university students. One day, Yūgo suddenly became interested in starting his own street racing team after the experience he felt cruising along the roads of the Bayshore Route on the way home from university in his sister's old Lancer Evo IX. Together with his childhood friends, Yukina Minato and Lisa Imai, Yūgo takes up her sister's former mantle as a night street racer as he forms a new street racing team, the Kita PhotonKnights.
