Years after the events of the final season, three girls find themselves in a familiar magical predicament after a moonlit night on Mako Island. As they adjust to their new lives, they unravel the mystery of what happened to those before them; all while they fight a new foe.

Millie had nothing abnormal about her, apart from her celebrity life since her acting career began because of Stranger Things. Dating Finn Wolfhard wasn't abnormal to her either. What is abnormal is her abilities when water touches her skin. That's right. When water touches her skin, her legs disappear and a tail appears. She hasn't told anyone about this, except Sadie who accidentally discovered it. Years after the original mermaids hung up their tails, the tides are shifting once again. Leo Sertori, the son of Cleo and Lewis, lives a normal life on the Gold Coast-working part-time at the newly reopened JuiceNet Café and helping with marine research at SeaWorld. But everything changes on the night of a full moon when Leo discovers a hidden letter, an old locket, and an irresistible pull to the mysterious Mako Island.
