Three hundred years after his legendary takedown by Hercules, Hades-Lord of the Dead and retired megalomaniac-is doing what any self-respecting, ego-bruised deity would do: sulking in the shadows of the Underworld with a strict "No Drama, No Olympians" policy. But his peaceful brooding is abruptly shattered when Pain and Panic, still as impulsively misguided as ever, decide their boss needs "a little spark in his eternal flame" and secretly sign him up for a dating app. To Hades' utter bewilderment (and maybe a flicker of hope?), he gets two matches.
