Lance, Allura, and Coran live on a part of the Earth where only water is to be seen for miles. These islands are called," The Altean Islands " and only very few know of them. They themselves are Altean, which they wield something you can almost always find in Alteans, and rarely in humans. Quintessence. it is like magic, but not. Like knock off medicines at a store that work better than the originals. Alteans are making new spells and ways to get outside of their islands without letting explorers find them. Scientists have been searching for the Altean race for years, and that includes Dr. Pidge and Dr. Hunk. Alteans fear humans, they fear they'll take away their power. Lance especially.
