Hailey and Jay had been married a month and were settling into that life well. There were still a few bumps they experienced as they grew accustomed to the new change but like most of the bumps they had come across in the past, they got over them without a problem. Accompanied with their two and a half-year-old daughter Macie currently in the midst of the so-called "terrible twos", the two of them have their hands full, especially alongside their demanding jobs and with Jay up for a possible promotion in the near future. But one hurdle gets flung in their direction without so much as a warning, one they weren't ready for as of yet - if at all - and it throws the routine they had built out of proportion entirely. - written in Hailey's POV - -- prequel to 'A Love Like Ours' --

Jay Halstead has a 11 yr old daughter. Only the 21st District and Chicago Med knows about her. Her name is Elizabeth Adilene Halstead, named after her grandmother. She's in 6th and knows the dangers of being a child of a cop. She knows how protect herself. She also has a good relationship with Erin Lindsay and Nadia Decotis. Then, Kim Burgess, Vanessa Rojas, Hailey Upton along with Trudy Platt. (This story starts with seasons 2-7 because she is introduced at the end of season one) Find out her adventures being a daughter of a cop and dangers of the criminals that want to get back at her father.

Set after 4x17 I wanted to write a made up story about what should of happens after this episode if erin stay in the unit and it's mostly about their life outside the bullpen and this story will not have Hailey upton in it at all and how much jay and Erin can work on their relationship
