Jolene was forced into hiding, because she brought death to everyone she loved. She was all alone, until she met Griffin, and he made her happy. But he had a secret too. And now Jolene has to figure out which life was real, and which was fantasy. Written for the 2021 Halloween Vault contest.

Written from prompt #13 by Halloween Vault 2021: Nisha, an editor in a book publishing firm, pulls an all-nighter on Halloween night in order to finish her work in time for the deadline. She decides to take a break and meets a mysterious guy in the break room, who helps her finish her work. But when they plan to go out soon after, he disappears. Nisha must solve the mystery behind him before she meets the same end as her mysterious colleague.
