A story in a non - infected AU about the different groups across Hallownest, and their war. But one came and helped saved it all...

after the pale king sealed the abyss, many vessels managed to escape. the pale king picks up on this, and in an effort to save face, demands that the vessels be caught and killed. plans to seal the hollow knight in the black egg insue, as the pale king hopes to end the radiance's reign. the story follows 3 vessels in particular: ghost (the knight) joni ( the one in the middle) and mason (the one on the right) as they seek to escape hallownest alive. NOTE: this is a rewriting of a story i worked on a year ago. I didnt end of finishing that story, and the reason was because i didnt know what i was doing. I didnt have a plan, and i worked with many ideas at once that just didnt work in succession. This time i do have a plan, and i will accomplish it to the best of my ability. Im sorry for keeping everyone who liked my story hanging. I hope to do better.

This is just something I did because I was bored. And major spoilers ahead so if you haven't already played hollow knight GO DO THAT RIGHT NOW AND ONLY COME BACK AFTER YOU BEAT RADIANCE. Done? Alright now we can get context. P.S: this story is inspired by 'silent city' by vaarion. That story is infinitely better than this one, so go read it. This story takes place years after the events of the hollow knight "true ending" where the knight defeats the radiance. I wants make everything more human because I'm lazy, so I just used the "its been a few hundred years so yah they are different" excuse. Also this is technically about zombies, just not quite normally. The radiance has been sealed away for as long as it takes between the events of hollow knight, and this story. But now the radiance is starting to infect people's minds, but not through their dreams. This time one zombie kicks off an outbreak, and yah, they spread by biting people. But the radiance isn't the only one who shows up. The knight and the hollow knight reappear magically to deal with this threat. Also a few unexpected other characters appear. And can't forget the government research institute that has taken quite an interest in the void and hallownest though the giant crack that appeared. May be very cringe in the beginning, but bear with me. It does get better. I hope. This cover art does not belong to me.

I've humanized everyone because I know that writing bugs will be a pain in the ass and also bugs don't really work with the setting.

Long ago. Before the world was bathed in light. There were rumors of a great kingdom, deep underground. A kingdom called Hallownest. The kingdoms existence has never been proving. its memory preserved only in myths and legends, as no one has ever gone looking, and returned with anything solid. Its mystery and the prospect of hidden history and treasure has many curious explorers venture into the earth in search of the hidden kingdom. Most return empty handed and defeated, some return, driven mad, babbling about a sweet smell that lingered in the air, and a living black ocean, attacking any who came too close. and some never returned at all. But when Carina hears the story from her great grandfather Cornifer, and goes to clean his home, she finds maps, charts, and drawings, depicting what she can only assume is the forgotten kingdom. And she cant wait to find it.

This will be a second person story about a middle schooler who is tired of facing the same problems each and every day and wants something new to happen. They eventually gets that wish, though it wasn't like they expected. This was inspired by Vessels and Tears on Wattpad, but the (former) name is not at all linked to it, they just happened to be similar. I hope you enjoy!
