Ume, an eleven year old girl is getting ready for her first day in school, until she gets lost in a hallway and meets a strange classroom.

Aaliyah is a young teenage girl, who is dealing with internal problems with self-esteem (her confidence), school, and trying to keep her family together. Her brother is away from their family for about two months..which you have to read to see where. But oncce he comes back their family decides to move to another city. Aaliyah and her brother, DeShawn, go to the same school, and they are a bit nervous for what they should expect with the students at the school. DeShawn makes friends easily, which to Aaliyah makes sense cause they could talk a bout whatever and from there just bond. Unlike DeShawn, it takes time to Aaliyah make friends, which makes her miss her old friends even more. Whenever DeShawn and his friends are around Aaliyah tries to be there every second, and DeShawn gets a bit suspicious. Why is Aaliyah always around?
