Book 03/06 (Current Version: Prototype - Version 1.0) This story/fanfiction is a 'what if scenario' within the Sci-Fi videogame series known as Halo and is based on an original character named 'Lieutenant Serenity McKnight' that partners with the legendary Master Chief himself, after the UNSC Pillar of Autumn had escaped a Halo Ring known as Installation 04 by the help of a mysterious alien of myth and legend called a Forerunner. The UNSC and their newest ally embark on a heavy defensive throughout Earth against the enemy, protecting humanities home planet at all cost. Lieutenant Serenity McKnight and her brothers and sisters in arms do their best to make the best of the war at the African front nearing New Mombasa. Doing so until an unknown mission would begin, deep in the jungle. The story is a 'reimagining' of Halo and is non-canon and is to be not taken seriously as this was an idea created back when I first played the games. Combat Evolved is the first book of my main series known as 'Halo Battle Buddies' and will lead up to the first game and beyond. In a galaxy-wide war. For over 20 years, humanity has been on the defensive, surviving against the odds from a genocidal religious alien cult known as the Covenant. Fighting for humanities very existence, untold numbers of UNSC forces will lay down their lives so that countless others may live. This story is a "what if scenario" and unique take on an idea that the creators of Halo original made for a draft to how Halo 2 was supposed to end during the designing phase of the videogames. (When Halo 2 was the "last game" and Halo 3 wasn't supposed to exist due to the current development schedules at the time). That idea being how Master Chief and Commander Miranda Keyes were supposed to have a "romantic relationship" at the end of the game, but scrapped it due to it making no sense for this to even happen. So, this story about this concept of an unlikely relationship with Master Chief and Commander Miranda Keyes and will recreate it to be more complex and expand this scrapped idea and potential make something of it. Ultimately, during the darkness of war, the time for companionship is an afterthought as time passes and chaos continues. Will this unlikely duo that being the legendary Spartan 2 Master Chief and UNSC Commander Miranda Keyes grow closer together against such darkness against the Covenant, or fall victim as many have before them.

The Covenant have glassed Reach and the UNSC have scattered in multiple directions. The Ad Meliora, a Halcyon-Class Light Cruiser, rushed its launch and ended up going into slipspace to an unmapped corner of the Milky Way Galaxy. The area of space is so remote, the Ad Meliora loses contact with its sister ship; The Pillar of Autumn. After finally coming out of slipspace, the crew of the Ad Meliora find themselves in a dark, secluded, and unmapped part of space. Not long, a Covenant Assault Carrier also exit's subspace, following the Ad Meliora. Seeing an unmarked planet nearby, the Captain orders the ship to fly towards the planet to try and hide from the Covenant Assault Carrier. The Planet they choose to hide on however, is fully inhabited by various creatures who are unaware of the conflict and will soon be in the middle of a bloody war. While the crew of the Ad Meliora find a way to repair their ship, they dedicate themselves in protecting the inhabitants from the Covenant. __________________________________________________________________________________ The Ad Meliora is carrying approximately 2,000 active military personnel with around 250 crew members. A few dozen ODST's and 3 Spartan-IIIs are onboard. The Spartans are Maverick-A776, Clara-B452, and Kieran-B902. The Ad Meliora has a few pelicans on board with warthogs, and scorpion tanks. Despite being decently armed, it pales in comparison to the Covenant Assault Carrier. The Covenant Carrier is named "The Fire of the Mighty," led by Shipmaster Khota 'Mutamee. Shipmaster Khota is armed with multiple covenant soldiers. There are an unknown number of Spirits and Phantoms, wraiths, and ghosts on board. Essentially, this is an alternate timeline where instead of getting killed by the Arbiter, Sesa 'Refumee manages to escape. He flees to the planet Threshold with the small remnants of his forces, intending to continue spreading the truth and exposing the Covenant. Also important to note, some of my OCs are sprinkled into the story.

This is an idea I have had in my head for a while and I will have an info chapter explaining a general idea I'm going to start with and I would love any input on sub stories anyone may want to see happen so here is a more proper description of what I will have happen: A lone spartan III in a desperate struggle for the survival of humanity against the covenant and perhaps even a terrifying new threat.

The year is 2552. The Human-Covenant War is in its final days. The shady Lykaon Corporation, known as a vital contributor to the war effort, but unknown for its illegal activities, has set about creating a black-ops squad of highly trained killing machines - dubbed 'Project WOLF'. This band of super soldiers are tasked with securing a company asset that has suddenly gone dark. The mission is to be high and tight, nobody can know. But this 'asset' is also in the path of another undercover squad, Nyx Team - three Spartan III's and a Spartan II with the sole purpose of doing whatever ONI wants of them, no matter the price or consequences. As tensions rise, and both factions clash in a race against time, something ancient stirs beneath their feet, something that can destroy them all.
