This story follows 16-year old Maxine 'Max' Halstead who is the younger sister of Will and Jay Halstead. Being the youngest sibling, and the only daughter with two adult brothers who just happens to be a doctor and a cop isn't always so fun as a teenage girl. Oh, and also, both of her parents are dead. [This is a One Chicago fanfic] (Disclaimer: this is my first fanfic so it won't be perfect, but I'm doing my best) I'll update when I have time. (I do not own the rights of any of the One Chicago characters, nor the idea of the Halstead brothers having a younger sister, but Maxine Halstead is my original character)

AU. Will and Jay Halstead are both highly dedicated to their careers. They hadn't seen or heard from their father in years, they hadn't parted on the best of terms. It had been almost a decade since Jay had first noticed the drastic and sudden change of attitude coming at him from his niece Olivia, and still to this present day Jay is convinced she doesn't like him, which didn't make sense because for the first three years of Olivia's life she would often choose her uncle Jay over her own parents. Jay just misses being able to share a room with her, to talk to her, and he would do anything to fix what had gone wrong all those years ago - if only he knew what had happened in the first place. So Jay finally says that he's had enough and takes the matters into his hands, on a quest to gain back the strong relationship he and his niece once had. And as it turns out, they might just have to. or Emma doesn't plan on forgiving her brothers for leaving her with their father and has no plans to leave her broken life.
