Aaron was the all star track runner in high school, and Alex had a crush on him, but Aaron had never really noticed Alex until college. Alex had thought his chances with Aaron were very low, until Aaron built up the courage to ask Alex out, soon it turns into somthing that neither of them expected at Aaron's apartment. But Aaron was having a hard time with dating Alex because of his last spouse, she had died in a car wreck, and the others had left for various reasons, Aaron seemed to be rigged with bad luck. And for a while he tried to avoid Alex so something like what happened to Aaron's ex wouldn't happen to Alex. But soon Alex helps Aaron realize that nothing bad would happen to either of them, and they could have a happy relationship together.

Now, once every year, every state in the US gathers in one place. 10 people are chosen and sacrificed to the leader. They had no chance say goodbye to their families, their normal life. They are taken straight away and locked down for a month to get used to the fact that they would be murdered, living until then in the underground dungeons. After the month is over, they are taken one by one , killed in the slowest and most painful way, and served to the leader for dinner. It's either escape, or say goodbye. Forever. ____________
