My name is Joann. I'm seventeen years old. I live in the Republic of Gilead as an econowife. I've been married for six months now, and I'm a little over five months pregnant. Some say women like me are among the lucky ones. Maybe they're right. But each of us carries our own burdens-silent or spoken. This is a fan-fiction based on the world of "The Handmaids Tale". It is its own story with its own characters and the struggles they face. We follow multiple characters in this story with each character telling their story in their own chapters; Maryanne, Linda, Thomas and Yvonne. I have only written one chapter, told by Maryanne, so far. I will continue to write whenever I have time and inspiration. Let me know if you like it!
