This is an alternate ending to the book 'The Handmaids Tale' by Margaret Atwood. It was written for my IOP (individual oral presentation). In this version of the story, the narrator 'Offred' manages to escape her confined life to an unforeseeable future in the fictional Republic of Gilead. Credits for the characters go to the author Margaret Atwood.

Margaret Atwood's novel, Handmaid's Tale, and TV series based on it are hot properties right now. Thought I might try to reimagine the Handmaid's perspective on the course of human events, with a little of the French Revolution thrown in.

"I, Dylan O'Conner, vowed to save handmaids' from execution. We're allowed to do that, because we're men. We have the right to bargain the right price and numbers in exchange for the girls. If we see a girl we want, we go after her master and blackmail him. That's how it's always been. The Handmaid has a rough life one that is held in secret and is barely told. The stories that are told are of the Demøness. The mysterious troll's story is unraveled in this fanfiction.

Children are a peculiar people. They are everything to come. Since children act on experience, we find they reflect our most instinctual selves. They can't mask their fear and they have yet to bury their dreams. Considered, I have written an essay reflecting on the value of children and the purpose it has brought to my every breath and every moment. Short Essay Reflection was inspired by June Osburn's speech about her hopes for their children to Serena when Serena held a gun to June. Comments and feedback are highly encouraged!

This is a fan-fiction based on the world of "The Handmaids Tale". It is its own story with its own characters and the struggles they face. We follow multiple characters in this story with each character telling their story in their own chapters; Maryanne, Linda, Thomas and Yvonne. I have only written one chapter, told by Maryanne, so far. I will continue to write whenever I have time and inspiration. Let me know if you like it! (English is not my first language so this can make my writing and especially the conversations between characters seem odd and misplaced, so please let me know what I can change to make it better!).
