This is an observational short story piece I wrote for an assessment at university - in less than 500 words we could only use a story to describe something - it could be anything, from your room, to an object, to a living thing, so long as it was entirely observational. I chose to base my story on an image I found inspirational, and expanded on what I thought that room would contain; the story it could tell without even trying to. So. "You can clip the wings of a bird... but you can never " -Tayy Twenty-one year old Jhemeni Bellamy, possessor of a elite socially inclined lifestyle, seems to be content with her situation. Anything she wants she gets no questions asked; but what she really wants is always underneath what everyone thinks she needs. She finds herself lacking a voice yearning to be freed from this cage she's perched on day in and day out. Beneath this persona that was handed to her with a ribbon on it is a young, ambitious and self-liberated woman; but at such a premature age not even she sees herself fully. She needs someone to pull this passion that burns inside her out because even porcelain can crack. But this someone may lead her down a path of tucked away secrets and mixed emotions. Will he be the death of her? Or will he be the light at the end of the tunnel she was looking for? It is up to her to choose the path of prudery or the path of finding one's self inquisitively?

2000 year into the future, and the only city left with a population is Orlando. At least, a portion of it. They split into 6 groups, or factions. The Fearless, The Political, The Wilderness, The Intelligent, The Honest, And the Caring. Nicole Roth is born into the political fraction. She knows she doesn't belong there. Nicole gets sacrificed for murder, but she runs away, and almost manages to get out of the gates. Max Lynx- Born into the faction of the fearless, had his strengths, He could beat any fighter or do anything his trainers wanted him too. The time came for the sacrifice of the fearless to be killed, and they leaders chose Max. Max gets so scared of dying, he runs. He doesn't know where but he runs. When he meets Nicole, he falls in love. They keep their love a secret, and only meet once-They know they cant meet today, but they can meet tomorrow, in the one place no one would dare to look-The hanging tree.

Young Gizmo is growing worried as whispers of rebellion fly around his work place. Things are already bad enough without a revolution, but these rebels seem very serious. How far will they go in their quest for freedom, and will Gizmo, his family, and his best friend Harvester, make it through the dark days? Meet me at midnight in The Hanging Tree to find out!
