Connor's life is what he would describe as shitty, awful, and stressful. He has what he cares about, his sister, but she pretty much hates him back. He knows he's a bad person. He knows he deserves the hate he gets. He knows he's hopeless. However, walking towards an empty park one afternoon, he's met by a paper airplane addressed to him. He's greeted by one everyday in the same spot at the same time. Each one has a typed poem or letter on it describing the persons day or what they thought of Connor that day. She's very shy and gets bullied pretty easily but Camila is always by her side. When they're eight, they meet two girls named Dinah and Normani. They all hang out all of the time and help Lauren overcome her fear of people. When they're thirteen, Camila, who's into wearing all black, wants tattoos and piercings, wants to drink and smoke, and loves to ride skateboards, learns she has feelings for her best friend.
