He: "Come here. I'll show you something better than just printed pages." She: "No, thanks. I'd rather read. You go to sleep." Without another word, he got out of bed, walked over, took the book from her hands, and tossed it aside. Then, he gently leaned down and kissed her deep, slow, intense. Fifteen breathless minutes later, he finally pulled away. Her lips were swollen and pink, her eyes wide in surprise. Brushing her bottom lip with his thumb, he whispered, "Now you know what I'm capable of. Big mistake, baby. Be ready for the consequences you won't be able to walk for the next two weeks." Then he turned, walked back to the bed, grabbed his phone, and called his PA. "Cancel all my appointments for tomorrow. I'm not coming in." He ended the call without waiting for a reply. She just stood there, stunned-heart racing, lips tingling, and book completely forgotten.
