They were a couple brought together by family pressure strangers tied by tradition. But time has a way of changing things. Two people from opposite worlds slowly found common ground. He fell first. She fell harder. And somehow, they built something beautiful.
One night, she was curled up in bed, completely engrossed in a steamy romance novel.
He: "Turn off the lights. It's time to sleep."
She: "No!"
He: "I said lights off. I don't repeat myself."
She: "Just one more chapter," she pleaded, flashing him her best puppy eyes.
He smirked and slowly slid over to her side of the bed. Leaning in close, he whispered in her ear, his voice low and teasing,
"If you don't turn off the lights, I'll do exactly what you're reading."
Her cheeks flushed crimson as she pushed him away playfully. Then, standing up, she grabbed her book, walked over to the couch, and settled in-deliberately ignoring him as she began to read again.
He: "Come here. I'll show you something better than just printed pages."
She: "No, thanks. I'd rather read. You go to sleep."
Without another word, he got out of bed, walked over, took the book from her hands, and tossed it aside. Then, he gently leaned down and kissed her deep, slow, intense.
Fifteen breathless minutes later, he finally pulled away. Her lips were swollen and pink, her eyes wide in surprise.
Brushing her bottom lip with his thumb, he whispered,
"Now you know what I'm capable of. Big mistake, baby. Be ready for the consequences you won't be able to walk for the next two weeks."
Then he turned, walked back to the bed, grabbed his phone, and called his PA.
"Cancel all my appointments for tomorrow. I'm not coming in."
He ended the call without waiting for a reply.
She just stood there, stunned-heart racing, lips tingling, and book completely forgotten.
