In math, it's been proven that two negatives can make a positive. Could the same theory be used in real life? Two friends, now a couple, who met up in math class, actually - Eden and Thayer - believe it's worth a shot. So, Eden gets her roommate, who's been traumatized from a great night gone wrong, and Thayer gets his best friend, who went from being the liveliest person to going suddenly mute out of nowhere. Together, you have Carah and Daveigh. Carah Brandeis hides behind her overgrown hair and under her oversize clothes, refusing to let another single person in to her life - including Eden. Daveigh Fischer can't shut out the disturbing thoughts and snippets of a memory he only half remembers no matter how hard he tries, causing him to shut out his best friend and ditch every fun thing he invites him to. But, Eden and Thayer are two positives who will always result in a positive and they know that that while their mouths might be sealed, some feelings are bound to slip out. If not love, then at least some form of friendship that can be built out of them is enough. Is it okay to trust someone though who's a got a plate full of problems same as you...or does it only make things twice as hard. Both feel a sense of calming near each, but the last time Carah got friendly with a guy, she ended up burned and broken, and the last time Daveigh let himself go and enjoy, he ended up making the biggest mistake of his life. Will Eden and Thayer succeed in bringing some happiness in their friends' lives? Or will they soon begin to realize that maybe a negative plus another negative actually equals in even more negativity, enough to start affecting the positive in their own lives? And will Carah and Daveigh be able to stick their heads out of the past long enough to notice that it's time they get a second chance?
