The novel tells the story of a young researcher who embarks on an expedition originally meant to last only a few months after completing her botanical studies. Reality quickly deviates from those plans. The mission drags on for years. Life in the province turns out to be filled with a silence that does not soothe, but rather conceals dark truths. The book is set in the nineteenth century. However, it does not rely on any actual historical events from that era. All places and characters are entirely fictional and created by me. Please keep in mind that this is a translation of a book I originally wrote in Polish. The English language might not always sound perfectly natural as a result. I sincerely apologize for any awkward phrasing or mistakes. So, if there is similarities, I give credit to those creators. I also watch a lot of tv and always write down lines that I like, so if you heard it before, it is because someone else wrote it first. The characters are BASED on the characters from the shows, but it doesn't take place in any of their worlds. I also write the episodes (chapters) as if it what a tv-show, where the dialog is important, because my ultimate dream would be writing my own show. Also, English is not my first language, and I have never shared anything I have written with anyone before, so please be nice. I only do this because I love writing, maybe I can find one person that actually like what I write.
