So last Christmas on a train ride back from school I imagined how Christmas might look like in a conmen's crib. And it's not like Leverage didn't have Christmas specials but I wanted one for after the completion of the show. So here's a short story about thieves on Christmas... or should I say an unusual family on Christmas. Read it! All of it! You can finish it in an hour. Comment!

Joyce « Joy » Evangeline SPENCER. She is the daughter of Eliot SPENCER and Phoebe Noëlle CAMPBELL. Joy was born May 18th, 1991, making her a beautiful teenager of 17 years old today. She grew up with only her father in her life. Her mother died in a car accident when she was barely a year old. She doesn't know her. She doesn't know what it is to have a maternal presence at home or even in her heart. All she knows about her is what she used to look like before and her name... Eliot took well care of her during her childhood. He made sure to give her everything she needed the most which is a roof to sleep under, food, a good education and his love. Since he is 18 years old, Eliot has been only living for Joy. She has become his entire world, as fatherly cheesy as it does sound. Today, at his 35 years old, nothing has changed... Almost nothing. Joy is still his world, but she grew up... Him being rarely at home because of work, it makes it hard for them two to communicate sometimes... All Joy wants is to spend time with her father, talk with him like before, doing things such as cooking with him... Just like before. But « nothing is impossible », isn't it what we say? Maybe it isn't really how she thought her wish would happen, but at least she might get closer to her father after a certain decision the teenage girl will make... Starts out sad, Nate's mourning the loss of his son again and he knows that he needs help but doesn't want help. The sadness turns into anger. And he's unable to control himself. He ends up drowning himself in alcohol. Something happens and the next thing Eliot and Sophie know is that Nate needs their help. Nate didn't choose his team, he didn't build it. The only person he chose out of them all, was Sophie. That was, until he realized what a team he was dealing with. A thief with no sense of normality and haywire decision making skills, a hacker with a crush and a problem with authority, a hitter with... issues. And Sophie, who if Nate was being totally honest with himself, he knew she would turn on them for a good enough piece of art. And Nate himself, he knew he was falling apart. He needed someone to help manage it all. Someone to act as a voice of reason. Someone to silently pull strings and get everyone to work together. He needed a ghost.
