Two girls. One past. Without a family of their own, Summer Monroe and her younger sister Harper, have been moving from place to place for years. Summer only cares for Harper and whether she's safe or not. Never being able to trust anyone, they never stay in one place for more than a month. CPS has been hunting them for years, but one thing the Monroe sisters aren't is stupid. Crazily, they run into one of the Pogues while running from CPS. The girls find 'family' among the differences of who they find, and where they came from. One lies to be someone she's not in hopes of being a kook. One expectedly finds family in the hardest of situations. What will happen to the Monroe sisters as they both live opposite lives? How can differences really change what once was close siblings? There is one story per chapter, and these stories are set in different periods of time. They only tell the past, there is not future for these stories. Once the past is written the story is stopped. Each story tells the past through an object, that is significant to the main character. Once the present is collided with the past, the next chapter is written. But thus the story is only told between 1,000 to 2,000 words.

Lance, a dancer who puts his heart and soul into what he does. He loves to dance, he always has, ever since he was a toddler. His momma would play Shakira and he'd move his hips as if they really didn't lie. But now, dancing is more of his coping mechanism. His angst and anger all poured into his routines. But dancing never stops the tears from falling down. Keith, your average emo looking high school student. Bunch of piercings, raven hair, fingerless gloves, and not to mention that *cough cough* awful mullet. He's had his fair share of hardships in the past. He's never opened up to anyone about them. Until he finds a boy in a blue jacket who understands what he went through. Why? Because he was there. And he went through the exact same trauma. He's a very serious man who doesn't have time for women. He is a multi millionaire. He is 27 years old and lives in NYC. He had a hard past that has made him the way he is today, which some would say cold, mean, heartless, and a monster. What happens when Demetria and her best friend Cashmere go out one night to a club where Demetria catches the eyes of Andre? Will she fall for him or turn him down like all the rest?
