Isabella held in her tears as she apologized to one of the one hundred and fifty guest present for what should have been her engagement party. How she managed to keep calm through all this she did not know. It was not until the last guest had walk through the door did her face fall and tears leaked out of her eyes. She felt disgusted with herself. She wondered how it is that she allowed herself to be so foolish, and for what, love. Here she was on the day she should be celebrating apologizing for a man who never once treated her right. "Is this really how pathetic I have become for the sake of love?" she questioned herself. Isabella sat on one of the long abandoned chairs and began to think. She began to think about all the times she had to make an excuse for this man. She thought about the many times he had made her feel less than herself. Looking at her situation she began to see just how pitiful she had become. It was all because of this man. This man was the reason she decided to withdraw from the society. She grew tired of always having to make up an excuse for him whenever she went to events. It was because she longer wanted to look pitiful that she stopped attending these events. Thinking back to the conversation she had with him about this night she began to worry. If it had not been for the fact that it was the first time he had promised to do something for her she would not have begun to worry. Taking out her phone she immediately sent him a message. "Christian. The party is over. I just wanted to know... are you okay?" "Yes" he replied. "Remember to be at the courthouse by eleven" she sent. She thought over the many things that could have stopped him form coming and not one of those scenarios made her feel any better. How is it that he is okay and still decide not to show on such an important day to the two of them. A few minutes passed before she got another message from Christian. "Okay" it read.
