Once, the kingdom of prey and the kingdom of predators lived in harmony with one another, trading and arranging friendly tournaments with each other. However, when the predator king and queen found their first born son slain by a prey assassin, fuelled with loathing and grief, the king waged war against the prey kingdom, which is still ongoing. Who will you be within this dystopian world? A noble soldier? A treacherous assassin? A strategic king, perhaps? One word of advice; keep your friends close, and your enemies even closer.

There’s this one group at school. It consists of 12 members. These twelve members are gifted with talent, good looks, and high social background. Though our high school doesn’t have a Student Council, they are often treated as such. Decisions go through and are made by this group of people. They dominate not only on athletic side of school but also in the classroom. Whether someone faces them in a game of football or at the board with numbers, they usually end up praying to Buddha for mercy. The only end to those types of situations is always public humiliation for the loser, but trust me. The twelve are always winners. That’s why everyone at Tokyo High School loves them – faculty included. They’re also the reason I am absolutely abhorred by 99.9% of the student population. And why is that, you may ask? Well it’s because I am the thirteenth unofficial (and most definitely unwelcomed) thirteenth Zodiac.

In the year 2504, there is a island when people capture all types of animals for their circuses and people came to visit the island and got millions of dollars when they sold their animals. This was illegal after after year 2089, but society had fallen four years later and countries are no more than a place for remaining human beings to take over. Maple is a young naive she cat who was trained to be circus cat for entertainment. When she finds out the truth, Maple makes the decision to leave behind the life of a simple house cat to a wanderer. Of course the life of a wild cat isn't easy as she is always forced to fight for what compared a housecat as simple things and watch as everyone she knew leaves her one by one. TW: character death, violence (Will have a lesbian cat couple in this story)

(I'm writing this story because I just felt like practicing some English and I just read the first book of Hunger Games, which fascinated me incredibly. I am actually an Austrian and speak German, which is why I prefer the English speaking ones: Not so strict, please?)

Found at the back of my wardrobe some twenty-six years or so after writing it! Once upon a time, it was very relevant. Nowadays, things are better .... but while the spectre of apartheid may no longer haunt South Africa (officially, at least) the analogy between blood-sports and racial (and other) prejudices do still exist. It may not be exactly 'timeless,' but hopefully it conveys a sense of outrage combined with helplessness.
